Sandals Vacation Traveling Tips

Your document/ticket packet contains all the information and travel documents/tickets you will need for your trip. When you look through the information, BE SURE to put ALL items back into the packet. All packets have been checked for accuracy and completeness before being given to you. Tickets cannot be replaced if they are lost or misplaced after you get them, so be sure to carefully replace all items back into your packet after your review. The tips below will help familiarize you with the different "stages" of your trip. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office.

  1. DEPARTING FLIGHTS: Your flight tickets are included, unless you are traveling on electronic tickets. If you are on electronic tickets, a confirmation form with your itinerary in enclosed in the document pack. Check in at the airport is recommended 3 hours prior to your scheduled departure time. Seats have been requested for your flights, but recheck at airport arrival for exact seat assignments. YOU WILL NEED YOUR PASSPORT OR PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP AT THIS TIME. Be sure to carry your proof of citizenship with you. DO NOT pack it in your luggage. Failure to have the required proof of citizenship will result in your being denied boarding. If you are on a connecting flight, your bags will be checked through to your final destination. (Jamaica, St Lucia, etc.)
  2. ARRIVAL AT DESTINATION: Once you arrive at your destination, proceed at the airport to the baggage claim and customs area. You will claim your luggage first, and then you’ll proceed through the customs checkpoint. You will again need your proof of citizenship here. This should only take a couple minutes once at the customs agent counter. After clearing customs, proceed outside the customs area. You should see the Sandals Desk and representatives very easily. If not, just ask any airport staff member and they will help. The Sandals people should be very obvious, and are usually dressed in brightly colored shirts. Just go up to them or the desk and tell them your names. They will take care of your baggage, and direct you to your shuttle for transfer to the resort. It is customary to tip the skycap that handles your bags. Generally $1 per bag is a good rule of thumb. These are airport employees and are not part of the Sandals package.
  3. GOING TO THE RESORT: Now that you’re here, you’ll have a ride to your resort. Some rides will only be 10 minutes, others can be up to 2 hours depending on your resort choice. Sit back and relax and enjoy the ride. For longer rides, the shuttle will usually stop midway for a short stop. There are restrooms and refreshments for sale at this stop.
  4. ARRIVAL AT THE RESORT: Paradise at last. You ticket packet has your hotel voucher in it. You’ll notice that there are 2 "forms" stapled to your voucher. The first is a pink sheet which is your pre-registration form. This will speed up your check in process. The second form is a round "Certified Sandals Specialist" tag. This will identify you as a customer of a CSS agency, and will increase your possibility of upgrades and other amenities. Give all three forms (Voucher, Pre-Registration, and CSS tag) to the Sandals person at check in along with your credit card. The credit card imprint is a security deposit and will be used for any incidental charges like phone calls, gift shop, spa facilities etc. You will sit down while the Sandals rep goes over and checks you in. They’ll be back in minutes to take you to your room. The bellman escorting you to your room is part of the Sandals package and does not need a gratuity.
  5. WELCOME MEETING: There are 2 orientation meetings each day. One in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. They last about 30 minutes, and we strongly suggest attending one. They will explain how to set up your diving, the golf, restaurant reservations, and other things at the resort.
  6. ENJOY…ENJOY…ENJOY… Remember this is a Sandals All Inclusive. Experiment and try things and enjoy. There’s "no problem" with them bringing you something else….It’s part of the package.
  7. ALL GOOD THINGS MUST END: The last evening of your stay, check the board in the lobby for your flight home. It will list the departure time, and the time the shuttle will leave the resort to go to the airport. A bellman will come to your room to pick up your bags.
  8. BACK TO THE AIRPORT: Your shuttle will take you back to the airport for your flight home. If you have a late departure in Jamaica, you can take an early shuttle to Montego Bay, and hang out at one of the other resorts until your flight. Ask us for more information if you want to do this.
  9. FLIGHT HOME: Check in for your flight home. Depending on your island, there may be a departure tax, which is required and paid at the airport counter at check in. This applies to Antigua and the Bahamas, and sometimes Jamaica. If this applies to you, you would have been notified by your agent.

We hope you had a great time on your Sandals Vacation. It was our pleasure to help with your plans. If you think of it, we’d love to have a picture of you at the resort for our wall. Just jot your names on the back and mail or bring it to our office.
